comForte announces SSH/SFTP support for its SecurFTP product

December 21, 2004

comForte, a leading provider of encryption solutions for the NonStop platform has enhanced its product SecurFTP to support file transfers via SSH/SFTP. SFTP is a protocol for file transfers over a Secure Shell (SSH) session, which is especially popular on Unix systems. The SSH/SFTP flavour of SecurFTP is crafted specifically for the NonStop platform. It has been designed from the ground up for optimal security and ease of administration.

SecurFTP/SSH will not require OSS to be present on the NonStop system while offering full OSS support if needed. The SSH/SFTP server implementation with public key client authentication and OSS filesystem support is available today. The SSH/SFTP client functionality will become available in February, while password authentication and Guardian filesystem support will be added in Q2/2005. For more information, please see SecurFTP.
