comForte has released a new version of SecurTape with major performance improvements, encrypted TMF audit/online dumps, and BACKCOPY support for encrypting, decrypting or re-keying existing tapes.
The new version requires 40 % less CPU time and allows parallel cryptographic processing in multiple CPUs, delivering throughput rates as high as or even higher than unencrypted BACKUP and RESTORE. This allows a cost-effective implementation of tape encryption without adding hardware or impacting overall system performance.
